Carl Shirley started on lie mound for Farmville but retired with a sore arm at the start of the second inning. Norman Clark took over and allowed only 8 hits. Britt was the catcher. On Sunday afternoon, Pinetops de feated Farmville, 4-2, in a heart breaker. Hal Pittman started for Farmville but was relieved by Mote Webb in the first inning, after Pine tops had scored three runs. Webb pitched shut-out bail until the eighth inning when Jefferson hit a homer. FOUNTAIN COUPLE GET DEGREES AT COLORADO UNIY. Dr. and Mrs. Earl Trevathan, Jr., are spending the remainder of this month with Dr. Trevathan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trevathan of Foun tain. Dr. Trevathan completed his medical coarse lafct week at the Uni versity of Colorado and received his degree. Mrs. Trevathan received her A. B. degree at the same time. On July 1 the Trevathans will go to Richmond, Va., and Dr. Trevathan will intern at the Medical College of Virginia. Mrs. Trevathan is the former Miss Ruth Franke of Washington, D. C. Rasberry, received Ids degree as doctor of dental surgery Wednes day at graduation exercises of the University of Pennsylvania in Pfaila dellphia. President Harold Stassen de livered diplomas to nearly 2400 men and women. Dr. Rasberry attended the Univer sity of North Carolina, served in the Navy three yearn and completed his work at the University in August, 1947. With his wife, the former Miss Do ris Spurrier of Mount Airy, Md., Dr, Rasberry will arrive here June 28 for a visits.
